Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot Application

The following is an application to become a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) and join a worldwide network of flight training professionals who are experts in Cirrus flight training. Each application is vetted by Regional Teams who regularly interact with CSIPs and Cirrus Training Centers; not all applicants are accepted based on capacity and the density of existing partners in any one area.

CSIP Applicants are trained at one of our Flagship locations at Knoxville, TN (KTYS), McKinney, TX (KTKI), Scottsdale, AZ (KSDL) or Orlando, FL (KORL). Training focuses on instructional techniques specific to a Cirrus aircraft. The course is three days of training, one-on-one with an instructor covering ground, simulator and flight time. Previous Cirrus experience with a Transition Training certificate from the Cirrus Approach Learning Management System (LMS) is required, and a Flight Skills Assessment can be conducted for candidates whose training was over 6 months prior to the CSIP training event. All applicants must be current and proficient CFIIs with extensive experience in the IFR environment. Initial CSIP training is conducted in Perspective or Perspective+ Aircraft only, adding the Avidyne qualification is available after successful completion of the initial CSIP course.

Once qualified, CSIPs provide factory-level, standardized experiences to clients per the Cirrus Approach. Training courses in Cirrus Approach are designed to ensure Cirrus owners and operators are trained efficiently to maximize the safety as they fly Cirrus airplanes!
